James Bernard Neilon - B:June 25, 1936 - D:January 6, 2019

James Bernard Neilon, born June 25, 1936 in Rochester, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 6th, 2019 at 11:25 PM. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Judy Neilon; sons, Jamie (wife Liz) and Scott (wife Brenda); daughters, Tamie (husband Nick) and Elisa (husband Kurt); seven grandchildren (Nicole, Matthew, Dillon, Baillie, Casey, Jessica, Alessandra) and five great-grandchildren (Preston, Gabrielle, Emily, Kaily, Christopher).

James is better known as Jim and came from a large Irish Catholic family with 2 brothers; John and Gerald and 3 sisters; Mary, Eileen, and Patricia.

He grew up in Rochester where he started out as an apprentice plumber. He then bought his first duplex which needed a bunch of work. He took that, fixed it up and rented out the second half. He took this money and bought another duplex where he did the same. He eventually sold the units and had enough money to move to sunny Arizona where he purchased a small apartment complex. It is here that he met his wife, Judy and opened his own contracting company, Neilon Plumbing, Inc. He ran this successful business with Judy until retiring in 2011.

He loved to fly and co-owned a number of planes over the years with his favorite being the Mooney M20K. We have wonderful memories of flying to Sedona and other nearby airports for brunch after Sunday Mass.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am January 14th at Blessed Sacrament (11300 N. 64th Street) in Scottsdale, AZ.

If you can, please provide your favorite memory and let us know you're coming here.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Parkinson's Foundation.
